Dissatisfied with the results of traditional “research” papers, particularly those that were written in half-semester courses, we present this blog as a possible alternative. Too often our students write their papers without a clear sense of how to find out what they want to know or don’t take the research process seriously enough in their eagerness to reach that word-count or page-limit goal. This collaborative blog is dedicated to the process of inquiry, not the results. Each of these posts was written by the members of Hope College’s Spring 2013 offering of Latin 372: Ovid’s Amores.
The assignment is simple: select one research topic related to the ancient world (and connected to Ovid, however tangentially). Tell us what you learned, how you found what you learned, and how you evaluated your sources.
